Hypnosis for Pain Management
Complementary hypnotherapy for chronic pain, functional symptoms, and conditions without a clear physical cause
As a certified clinical hypnotherapist with additional training in chronic pain protocols, I provide complementary care for patients experiencing pain that has not responded well to conventional treatment. My work focuses on calming the nervous system, supporting pain perception modulation, and helping clients reconnect with a sense of control and comfort.

Hypnosis is not a replacement for medical care, but it can be a valuable adjunct—especially for conditions involving functional neurological symptoms, centralized pain, or emotional components that influence the experience of physical discomfort. I work collaboratively with physicians and always require medical acknowledgment before beginning hypnotherapy for chronic pain.
Conditions Commonly Supported by Hypnotherapy
Patients often benefit from hypnosis when symptoms persist despite standard treatment or when a functional component is suspected. Conditions may include:
✅ Chronic Pain Conditions

-
Fibromyalgia
-
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
-
Central Sensitization Syndrome
-
Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS / Mindbody Syndrome)
-
Post-surgical or post-injury pain that remains after healing
✅ Functional and Neurological Symptoms
- Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
-
Psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES)
-
Post-Concussion Syndrome
-
Chronic headaches or migraines with no structural cause
-
Somatic symptoms not fully explained by medical findings
✅ Related Conditions with Mind-Body Patterns
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
-
Chronic pelvic pain
-
Bruxism and temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ/TMD)
-
Sleep disruption linked to pain or anxiety
How Hypnosis Supports Pain Relief and Functional Recovery
Hypnotherapy offers a neurophysiological and cognitive framework for working with pain and related symptoms, particularly when standard treatments are limited or incomplete. Here are a few key mechanisms through which hypnosis may support patients:
🧠Modulates Pain Perception
Guided hypnosis can help reduce the intensity of pain signals processed in the brain. Techniques such as “control room” visualization or glove anesthesia use focused attention to influence sensory experience without medication.

🌿 Regulates the Autonomic Nervous System
Many chronic pain and functional disorders involve dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Hypnosis promotes parasympathetic activation, supporting shifts out of chronic fight-or-flight states into rest, repair, and regulation.

🧩 Addresses Subconscious Patterns That Reinforce Symptoms
Hypnosis provides access to subconscious beliefs, conditioned responses, and unresolved emotional material that may be contributing to pain maintenance. Through methods like Parts Work or solution-focused regression, patients may gain insight and resolution that support nervous system change.

🧘 Enhances Coping and Emotional Resilience
By improving emotional regulation, reducing catastrophizing, and helping patients reconnect with internal resources, hypnosis can play a key role in improving quality of life and functional outcomes—even when pain remains present at some level.
Contact and Collaboration
As a certified clinical hypnotherapist with additional training in chronic pain protocols, I offer complementary support for patients whose symptoms have not responded fully to conventional care. My work focuses on calming the nervous system, modulating pain perception, and helping clients reconnect with a sense of safety and comfort in their bodies.

Hypnosis is never a substitute for medical treatment. It can, however, be a valuable adjunct—especially in cases involving centralized pain, functional neurological symptoms, or mind-body contributors to chronic discomfort.

In keeping with ethical guidelines, I require a brief acknowledgment from the patient’s physician confirming that hypnosis is not contraindicated.
