Chronic Pain • Subconscious change • Stress Relief
In-person in Stamford, CT, and online.

Chronic pain is not random
When pain persists after injury has healed or tests come back normal, it is often driven by learned patterns in the nervous system—not ongoing tissue damage.
These patterns are real. They are conditioned. And they can change.
Pain Alchemy is an individualized mind-body process designed to uncover and resolve the subconscious patterns that keep chronic pain active—not by managing symptoms, but by addressing why the pain is being generated in the first place.

How Chronic Pain Becomes a Protective Strategy
Many forms of chronic pain are maintained by the subconscious as a protective strategy — a way to manage emotional pressure, internal conflict, or feelings that feel unsafe to experience directly.
Common drivers include:
-
long-standing emotional suppression
-
internalized responsibility, perfectionism, or self-pressure
-
difficulty expressing anger, grief, or unmet needs
-
identity patterns shaped around being “strong,” “good,” or “in control”
Pain becomes the outlet.
Not because something is wrong with you — but because something meaningful has not been addressed.
When these patterns are brought into awareness and resolved, the pain often begins to lose its purpose—and its intensity.
Pain Alchemy Hypnosis Program
A six-session private process designed to uncover and resolve the subconscious patterns that keep chronic pain active.
Investment: $1,700 (valid for 6 months)
This is not symptom management. It is a structured process for identifying and shifting:
-
Emotional conflicts linked to pain onset or persistence
-
Personality traits that reinforce pain responses
-
Subconscious conditioning that keeps the body in protection mode
What's included:
-
Identifying emotional triggers connected to pain flares
-
Working with repressed or avoided feelings safely and directly
-
Shifting subconscious beliefs tied to identity and self-expectation
-
Interrupting conditioned pain responses
-
Re-associating the body with freedom, movement, and neutrality
Sessions are guided by how your pain responds, not by a rigid protocol.

How this work is different
Most approaches for chronic pain focus on managing or overriding the body.
This work does something else.
When symptoms persist without a structural cause, the system is often responding through learned internal patterns — shaped over time by emotional pressure, internal conflict, and adaptation.
This work doesn’t attempt to treat symptoms.
It engages the inner conditions where symptoms take shape — and where they can begin to change.
The work happens beneath analysis—through imagery, sensation, and symbolic experience in trance states. We access the level where change actually occurs—not by forcing the body, but by allowing new experiences to register and reorganize over time.
Conditions often maintained by mind–body mechanisms:
These conditions are often driven by nervous system patterns rather than ongoing tissue damage:
-
Fibromyalgia
-
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
-
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
-
Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS / Mindbody Syndrome)
-
Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS)
-
Central Sensitization Syndrome (CSS)
-
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other stress-exacerbated conditions
-
Medically unexplained chronic pain (when nothing shows up on tests, but the pain is still very real)
If your pain has been persistent and you’re open to a mind-body approach, this work may support you.

Medical Boundaries
This work is intended for people who have already completed appropriate medical evaluation for the symptoms they're seeking help with.
It is not compatible with ongoing medical procedures, surgeries, implants, or experimental interventions aimed at fixing the same symptoms.
I request a brief acknowledgment from your physician confirming that hypnosis is appropriate for you.
Note: Hypnotic pain relief is recognized as a standard, evidence-based method for non-drug pain management in the United States. It is included in the Final Report of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Pain Management Best Practices as a recommended approach for chronic pain.

My approach
I'm Marija Mikolajczak, a certified clinical hypnotherapist working with mind-body pain and stress-related symptoms that persist beyond structural explanation.
My work focuses on how the nervous system and subconscious hold learned patterns—and how those patterns can shift through guided inner experience in trance states.
I work with a limited number of clients and primarily in structured, multi-session programs to support depth, continuity, and integration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a formal diagnosis to start?
You don’t need a specific label like fibromyalgia or CRPS, but you should have had your pain evaluated by a medical professional. Once any medical concerns have been ruled out, hypnosis can support the mind-body patterns that often keep pain active. I request a brief acknowledgment from your physician confirming that hypnosis is appropriate for you.
Will I be in control during hypnosis?
Yes. You remain aware, responsive, and in control the entire time. Hypnosis is a focused, relaxed state — not mind control, not sleep.
Will this be emotional or difficult?
Some sessions involve emotional insight; others focus on reinforcing safety and neutrality. We work at a pace your system can integrate. Pain often shifts as understanding deepens.
How many sessions will I need?
The Pain Alchemy Program is a six-session process designed to build momentum and create deeper change. Most clients feel shifts along the way, and many choose to continue with optional maintenance or integration sessions afterward.
